9 Tips for Great Copywriting

In 2021, I became obsessed with copywriting.

• Wrote 326 pieces of content

• Spent 4,400 hours crushing copywriting blogs

• Close $2.8M of deals in the last year

Here are 9 tips for great copywriting:

1. Write Like You Talk

Copywriting is a conversation.

Don't talk AT your customer.

Talk WITH your customer.

Make it fun.

2. Make it Scannable

8.25 seconds is the average human attention span.

Make your copy easy on the eyes.

And you win.

I create threads on Wednesday and Sunday on Twitter that average 4 million views. The threads are always easy to scan and understand.

Don't reinvent the wheel.

7. Optimize for Emotion

Aim to elicit a strong emotional response from the reader.

Here is a list of emotions you can stir up in someone:

• OHHH - "now I get it"

• NSFW - "that's crazy"

• LOL - "that's so funny"

• AWW - "that's so cute"

• YAY - "that's great news"

• WTF - "that pisses me off"

• FINALLY - "someone said what I feel"

I aim to hit 2 of the 7 emotions (at least) in everything I write.

8. Learn from The Best
