The Insider's Guide To Content Mastery: 60 Pieces In 30 Minutes

My 6-Step Process That Will Revolutionize Your Content Creation Process

Success is RARELY attributed to one thing.

It's typically the culmination of little things done well and consistently over time.

However, I do believe that in any founder's journey, there are "inflection points."

Moments where a new habit was formed, a new decision was made or an unexpected opportunity arose...

That would forever change the trajectory of the business for the better.

Over the past 14 years I’ve managed to build not just one, but THREE successful businesses.

And while I can't say there was one thing that determined the success of each of the businesses...

I can point to a key inflection point...

The day I started prioritizing content.

That’s right…

The importance of content cannot be overstated.

Content increases your surface area for acquiring new clients, making incredible connections, growing a thriving community and generating large amounts of cash.

But content isn't just about building an audience and growing a following…

It’s a conduit that allows you to increase your impact and grow your brand to new heights.

To date, I've created over 36,000 pieces of content.

And as you might imagine, I've managed to hone my content creation process into a well-oiled machine.

I've developed a system that allows me to plan as much as 60 days' worth of content in just 30 minutes.

It's been a complete game-changer for me, and I think it will be for you too.

That's why in today's newsletter, I'll be revealing this exact system with you.

I hope you find it helpful, and that you're able to leverage it to grow your audience and brand exponentially.

Now, let's get back to my system for planning 60 days' of content in 30 minutes.

#1 - Develop Content Catagories

The first step in planning your content is to narrow your topics to things that relate specifically to your niche and expertise.

Start by brainstorming 5-7 topics related to your brand or industry that you can speak about with authority.

These themes should be broad enough to provide a wide range of content ideas, but narrow enough to ensure you stay focused on your niche.

By having clearly defined themes, you'll have a solid foundation upon which to build your content strategy.

When defining your core themes, take time to consider your target audience and what resonates with them.

Ask yourself questions like:

  • What problems are they trying to solve?

  • What information are they seeking?

  • What goals are they trying to achieve?

By understanding your audience's needs and desires, you'll be better equipped to create content that speaks directly to them.

Also, consider your unique selling proposition (USP) and how it ties into your core themes.

Your USP sets you apart from competitors and should be infused throughout your content.

It's essential to stay consistent in your messaging.

Consistency not only helps establish your brand identity, but it also builds trust and credibility with your audience.

As you consistently deliver valuable content within your core themes, your audience will come to view you as an expert and authority in your niche.

#2 - Get Specific with Sub-Topics

Once you have your core themes in place, it's time to break them down into specific sub-topics.

Aim for at least five sub-topics for each broad theme to ensure that you have enough variety in your content.

This will also help you cover different aspects of your niche, attracting a wider audience and keeping them engaged.

As you develop sub-topics, consider different angles and perspectives that can add depth to your content.

By covering various facets of each sub-topic, you'll create richer, more engaging content that caters to a diverse audience

In addition to brainstorming sub-topics, take the time to research your competitors and industry leaders to see what content they're producing.

This can help you identify any gaps in their content that you can fill with your unique insights, further differentiating your brand and establishing your authority.

Lastly, don't be afraid to revisit your core themes and sub-topics periodically, as your niche and audience's needs may evolve over time.

Regularly reassessing your content focus ensures that you stay relevant and continue to provide valuable, timely information to your audience.

#3 -Determine Content Types & Formats

Now that you have a list of sub-topics, it's essential to consider the types of content and formats that will best suit your audience and convey your message.

Popular content types include:

  • Listicles

  • How-to guides

  • Interviews

  • Actionable tips

  • Personal stories

  • Opinions or breakdowns of existing content

And your formats can range from written articles to visual infographics, podcasts, or videos.

For each sub-topic, identify which content types and formats will be most effective.

This not only helps streamline your content creation process but also ensures that your content remains engaging and diverse.

Think about your audience's preferences and how they consume content.

Are they more likely to read a blog post, watch a video, or listen to a podcast?

Catering to their preferences will increase the chances of your content resonating with them.

Additionally, experiment with different content types and formats to see what performs best with your audience.

Also, don't be afraid to repurpose content across different formats to extend its reach and lifespan.

For example, you can turn a popular Twitter thread into a video or podcast episode, or transform a series of related posts into an eBook or course.

Repurposing content not only saves time and resources but also helps you reach new audience segments who prefer different content formats.

#4 - Create a Content Matrix

With your sub-topics and content types identified, it's time to create a content matrix.

This matrix will serve as a quick-reference guide to help determine the specific content pieces you'll create.

By combining sub-topics with content types, you'll generate a wide range of ideas that can be scheduled over the 60-day period.

To create your content matrix, use a spreadsheet or project management tool to organize your ideas.

List your core themes in rows and content types in columns, then fill in the cells with specific content ideas based on your sub-topics.

This visual organization allows you to see at a glance what content you have planned and identify any gaps or redundancies.

When planning your content matrix, consider any seasonal or timely topics that may be relevant to your niche.

Incorporating seasonal content can help you capitalize on current trends and events, driving increased engagement and interest from your audience.

#5 - Leverage Templates, Creativity, and Popular Trends

As you begin creating your content, leverage templates, creativity, and popular trends to streamline your content production process and ensure your content is engaging and relevant.

Templates can be especially helpful for recurring content types, such as listicles or how-to guides.

By having a consistent structure in place, you can quickly generate new content by swapping out the specific details for each piece.

Also, pay attention to popular trends within your niche and the broader content marketing landscape.

By staying up-to-date on what's trending, you can identify opportunities to capitalize on these trends and create content that's timely and relevant.

For example, if a topic within your niche is generating buzz, explore ways to incorporate it into your content while staying true to your core themes and expertise.

In addition to following trends, look for opportunities to collaborate with other content creators or influencers within your niche.

Collaborations can help you reach new audiences, increase your credibility, and provide fresh perspectives on your content.

#6 - Schedule, Monitor, and Optimize

With your content matrix complete and your content created, it's time to schedule your content for publication.

Consistency is key when it comes to content marketing, so establish a regular posting schedule that works for you and your audience.

Use a content scheduling tool or social media management platform to automate the posting process and ensure that your content is published according to your planned schedule.

I use Hypefury for Twitter and Taplio for LinkedIn.

This not only saves time but also helps you maintain a consistent presence across your chosen channels.

As your content is published, monitor its performance to gain insights into what resonates with your audience and what doesn't.

Track metrics such as views, shares, comments, and conversions to determine which content types, formats, and topics are most successful.

Ultimately, you want to adapt your content strategy based on the insights you gain so you can double down on what's working best.

There you have it, my system for planning 60 days of content in 30 minutes.
