Longevity - The Secret Behind Every Successful Brand
Discover My 6 Systems For Sustainable Growth
I’ve been building businesses for 14 years.
And there’s one often-overlooked component that I believe is the #1 indicator of someone’s success…
Longevity.
Being able to show up day in and day out skyrockets the chance of your success.
But most people can’t.
I’ve been posting daily on Twitter for about 16 months now, and 90% of the people who were starting when I did aren’t around anymore…
Not to mention there’s the statistic that 60% of small businesses will fail within the first 3 years of starting.
Why is that?
I think it has a lot less to do with one’s “resolve” - and a lot more to do with how unsustainable many people’s efforts are.
30% of entrepreneurs report struggling with depression, and some 60% of Americans say they feel “burned out.”
So if longevity is the secret to building a successful brand or business…
How can you ensure you’re one of the 5%-10% that’s still around a year from now?
It comes down to building sustainable systems that contribute to the long-term growth of your brand.
And since I want to see you still active and winning 12 months from now…
In today’s newsletter I’m going to share with you my 6 Systems for Sustainable Growth.
Some of these systems might come as a surprise to you, but I promise they each play a crucial role in helping you grow and thrive as a founder.

Now, let's get back to my 6 Systems for Sustainable Growth.
#1 - Audience Growth Systems
You probably have heard the story about how when my first business was unjustly shut down by the government…
My audience literally kept me from going to jail and helped get my business back up and running.
In the realm of building a brand, your audience is your lifeline.
And growing your audience doesn’t just mean increasing numbers - it’s about fostering an engaged and responsive community.
However, with all the various platforms out there, trying to stay active on all of them at once is a fast track to burnout.
When you’re first starting to build your audience, start on just two platforms.
Set strict boundaries about the amount of time you’ll spend on the platform, and what your key objectives are for your time there.
Leverage tools like Hypefury and Taplio to help automate processes and streamline your content creation.
And as soon as you can, bring in a virtual assistant to help you manage your engagement.
As you start to grow on one channel, slowly begin to repurpose your content on another channel.
Track your data ruthlessly - engagement rates, peak posting times, popular topics. Use this data to refine your content, adjust your hooks, and optimize your CTAs.
Ensure you're not just throwing content into the void.
We want to be smart with the time you invest on the platform.
#2 - Compounding Content Systems
Content is king.
But coming up with content to post multiple times a day is a crazy drain on your energy and productivity.
That’s why I use a compounding content system.
First you need to identify key growth trends for each platform.
For instance, Twitter threads have become a powerful tool for detailed communication and building narratives.
Next, create a swipe file of the most engaging content relevant to your niche.
This isn't for copying…but for inspiration.
Understand what makes these pieces successful, be it their tone, structure, or visuals, and channel these elements into your content.
Now that you have those foundational components in place, start by creating a single, high-value piece of content.
This could be a detailed blog post, a comprehensive guide, or an informative Twitter thread.
Then, repurpose this content across different platforms.
Turn the thread into a video script for YouTube, create an Instagram carousel summarizing the key points, and extract bite-sized tips for tweets.
In fact, this very newsletter is inspired by a Twitter thread I wrote recently.
Not only does this approach save time, but it also conserves your creative energy.
You're not constantly trying to come up with fresh content ideas for each platform, and as a result, you're less likely to experience content creation burnout.
This strategy not only maximizes your content reach but also ensures you maintain a consistent presence across platforms with less effort.
#3 - Monetization Systems
Monetization is often a high-pressure task for entrepreneurs, contributing significantly to stress and potential burnout.
And there’s nothing more stressful than a bank account with a low balance.
While it requires work to build out reliable revenue, it’s easier than you might think.
We want to create multiple monetization streams and promote them systematically every month to ensure we have guaranteed income coming in.
Here are the monetization streams I recommend every founder have:
Low-ticket digital products
Price between $19-$497
Low-ticket products are great because they’re a low barrier to entry
Can get people into your community and they will eventually buy your higher-ticket stuff
May never convert to your higher-priced options, but still “pay” for the privilege of your content
Subscription offers
Price between $19-$497
Bring in guaranteed recurring revenue
Over time can scale to be a sizeable revenue source
High-Ticket Services Or Programs
Price between $3k-$5k
High-ticket offers typically have great margins
Provide fantastic value and results to the buyer
Consulting Service
Price between $2k-$10k
A no-brainer once you have experience under your belt
Added benefits of getting to connect with high-level people
Begin regularly promoting each offer and track the performance of each call to action.
This will help you understand what resonates with your audience.
It might take you a few months to dial in, but this systematic approach makes monetization more sustainable and keeps your bank account full.
#4 - Time Management Systems
As founders, time is your most valuable resource, and managing it efficiently is critical to maintaining work-life balance and boosting productivity.
First, take time to list your values.
Your vision is only sustainable if it aligns with your truths.
Value alignment reduces burnout
Value alignment heightens motivation
Second, adopt the practice of conducting a time audit every 90 days.
What tasks are prioritized, and when are they done?
Break down where you spend your time and adjust according to your priorities and well-being needs.
Create a vision of your ideal week and use it as your North Star when you lose focus.
Remember to incorporate time for rest, relaxation, and personal pursuits.
This system isn't about chaining yourself to a strict schedule, but about fostering a deeper understanding of how you work best.
This practice is also important because it helps give you a clear picture of what you should be doing and what you should be outsourcing.
Your time should be spent on high-impact tasks that only you can do.
Lower-impact tasks, while necessary, can often be delegated to team members.
#5 - Team Building Systems
Building and maintaining a team can be a demanding task.
However, as the saying goes “if you want to go farther, go together.”
When onboarding new team members, ensure they're aligned with your brand’s vision and goals.
Rather than opting for quantity, focus on quality—remember, one “A-player” is better than ten “B-players”.
Develop a scorecard system to track their progress, identify areas of improvement, and acknowledge accomplishments.
And lastly, maintain an up-to-date company wiki with all your Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
If you have to do something more than once, document the process and upload it to your company wiki.
This serves as a resource for your team members to refer to when in doubt, fostering self-reliance and efficiency, and will free up hours of your time.
Select “Duplicate” in the upper right-hand corner of the page that opens
Notion will ask you to log in (if not already logged in) so that you can duplicate it to your Notion workspace
Update your Company Wiki with all the relevant documents and systems for your company
#6 - Personal Well-Being Systems
Sustainability is not just about your business operations; it's also about personal well-being.
And I think this is perhaps the most overlooked aspect of longevity in business.
As entrepreneurs, we need to pay attention to our physical, mental, and emotional health.
I think every founder should have:
Mentors
Coaches
Therapist
Fellow Entrepreneurs
Personal Trainer / Workout Buddy
Mentors and coaches can provide guidance and support in your entrepreneurial journey, helping you navigate challenges and avoid burnout.
Therapists can support your mental health, providing tools and techniques to manage stress and maintain emotional balance.
Connecting with fellow entrepreneurs can provide a sense of community and shared understanding.
A personal trainer or workout buddy can keep you accountable to your physical health goals.
In addition to building out these supportive relationships, incorporate a daily exercise and mindfulness routine that suits your lifestyle and preferences.
This could involve a specific workout, yoga, or even just a goal to walk a certain number of steps each day.
Regular exercise not only improves physical health but also aids mental clarity and mood.
And techniques like breathwork and meditation can provide a sense of calm and focus in a busy workday.
There you have it, my 6 Systems for Sustainable Growth.
I hope you find them helpful.
